Christine and David are a couple who epitomize the idea of the lasting marriage, whose love has not only persisted, but has grown exponentially in their 25 years as husband and wife. We were absolutely honoured when Christine, a photographer herself, got in touch with us about a 25th anniversary vow renewal on their first ever trip to beautiful Victoria, BC from Florida. I screamed in delight when I got their email, and knew it was going to be beautiful, sentimental, and such an incredible testament to what we have given our life to do – capture lasting, authentic and raw love stories.

Christine and David visited on the tail end of a cruise to Alaska, bringing along their three (nearly) adult children, and one of their daughter’s partners. They sought out some wonderful vendors who fit their vision and their vibe, including Vanessa from Vancouver Officiants to direct their ceremony, and Bespoke Blossoms for stunning florals. We met them in Beacon Hill Park, and chose the most private and lush location we could find for their impromptu park ceremony. We all sobbed hearing their renewed vows to each other and to their children, setting such a beautiful example for the type of love their kids should aspire to have in their own lives.

Following their ceremony we explored Beacon Hill Park, and walked to the beach along Dallas Road for some portraits. We captured some dramatic couples portraits, as well as some fun candids of the kids exploring the rocky coastline (something very different from their beaches in Florida!). We finished the day with a quick tour of James Bay and dropped them off to explore the inner harbour, and grab some cocktails and appetizers before heading back to their ship.

These are the moments we live for.
