Shawnigan Lake Wedding Photographer | J&D | Camp Pringle Wedding
J&D chose to have their wedding celebration (after eloping the year prior) at Camp Pringle in Shawnigan Lake BC. Their goal was to throw a party that felt like a family reunion mixed with a wedding. Their family traveled from all over to experience beautiful Vancouver Island where they decided to build a life together.
J&D met in university while taking part in debate club on the other side of the country in Newfoundland. We bonded over this shared connection, and they included some lovely nods to that place that changed their lives in their wedding day details (be sure to look for the details below!).
These two have a connection that is undeniable, and their woodsy vow renewal in the forest cathedral had us all in tears. J’s dad officiated and it couldn’t have been a more perfect day. From their beautiful hand written vows, to anecdotes and personal stories from J’s dad, to the folky music played by their musicians. They followed the ceremony with law games and cocktails while we took some couple’s portraits on the property.
Their wedding reception took place in the lodge with tear jerking toasts, a rendition of Circle Game by D’s mom/a singalong by the guests (one of my favourite songs of all time), and a fun choreographed dance. Following the ceremony we took a romantic walk down to the water to reminisce about the day and take in a beautiful cotton candy sunset for photos.
I loved every second of this unique day and I am so grateful they chose to have me capture their day. Here’s a peek at their wedding!
