Kelsey and Kyle met one fateful night at a local country bar. A well dressed young man approached Kelsey and her friends, and they were quite sceptical of who he was and what his intentions were (go friends!). He made Kelsey promise for a dance before the night was over, and at the end of the night managed to steal her for a song. They went on a real first date after that, and Kyle insists from that very first date, he knew he would marry this girl. He proposed a couple of years later by planning an epic adventure proposal in Fort St John where they both live, with the help of Kelsey’s dad. After a helicopter took them to a remote location, he popped the question (this was also his very first helicopter ride! Talk about taking a leap of faith!). The two planned their destination wedding on Vancouver Island and invited us to be a part of their day.
Kelsey and Kyle tied the knot with 60 of their closest family and friends at Dolphins Resort in Campbell River. Kelsey admitted that a big reason they chose the resort was for the helicopter tours they offered as an add on in their packages through 49 North Helicopters. We are so glad they did, as this was one of our most adventurous couples to date. We captured their beach wedding and were whisked off by a helicopter to Alexandra Peak near Strathcona Park in central Vancouver Island. It was also my first time on a heli and I was terrified but thrilled to share this new experience with such a rad pair of people. The photos speak for themselves with how amazing this adventure was. We returned to a cheering group of family and friends, and danced the night away overlooking the ocean.
A huge congrats to Kelsey and Kyle on this adventure. Their next bucket list item comes next with their honeymoon to travel South America!
