Island View Beach Intimate Wedding | Nicola & Gavin

Nicola and Gavin’s envisioned an intimate wedding on the coast at Island View Beach with their immediate family and closest friends long before the pandemic hit. They were one of our few couples whose wedding went ahead as planned. They dreamed of a foggy and drizzly PNW wedding and that’s exactly what mother nature offered up on their special day.

I met them for the first time at the beach parking lot, with their dog bounding towards me with smiles and a wagging tail. The rain didn’t bother anyone, and we ventured off together to their chosen spot on the beach, away from the usual beachgoers and dog walkers. We arrived to a beautiful arch that they built together as a combined effort the day before, which had seashells from the place they got engaged scattered around it’s base. It wasn’t long before Nicola arrived and met me on the path overlooking the beach before walking down the “aisle” to her husband to be.

Their ceremony was short, sweet and their family and friends cheered them into married life with a champagne toast following their vows. I whisked them away to brave the wind and rain on Mount Douglas following their family photos, and again onto Mount Doug Beach for a waterfront stroll (before falling off a rock on my rear at the end of our session in true Heather style).
