Pregnancy is one of those chapters that goes by faster than you expect. One day you’re announcing it, and the next you’re holding a big baby and wondering where the last twelve months went. Maternity photos aren’t just about documenting a bump — they’re about preserving the feeling of this season: the anticipation, the tenderness, the quiet moments before everything changes in the most beautiful way. These are the photos you’ll pull out for your kid one day and say “look, we were so excited for you.” That matters. A lot.

Professional maternity become something you treasure for decades. I’ve been photographing people’s most meaningful milestones since 2011, and I can tell you: the families who invested in professional maternity photos are always grateful they did. Did they feel super beautiful in the moment? Not all of them did. But they were glad they did them looking back. It’s something that gains value as the years pass.

When should you do your maternity photos?
The sweet spot for a maternity session is typically 30–35 weeks — your belly is beautiful and prominent, and you’re still feeling comfortable enough to move around and enjoy yourself. Much earlier and the bump can be harder to showcase; much later and you might just be too done with being pregnant to have fun with it (valid!). If you’re expecting multiples, we’d want to plan a little earlier, so reach out as soon as you can.

When it comes to what to wear, I’ve got you covered.
I keep a small client closet of beautiful dresses specifically for maternity sessions — flowy fabrics, rich textures, the kind of pieces that photograph incredibly well. I also love helping with wardrobe styling and inspiration before your session, so you show up feeling confident and excited rather than stressed about what to wear.

As for where we shoot — that’s totally up to you and what feels right:
– Outdoors is my playground. St. John’s and the surrounding area have some of the most dramatic, breathtaking scenery you’ll find anywhere — rugged coastlines, golden fields, lush wooded paths. Outdoor sessions have this natural, luminous quality that’s hard to replicate, and the variety of backdrops means your gallery feels dynamic and full of life. If you want something timeless and a little epic, let’s take it outside.

– Studio sessions are perfect if you want a more polished, curated look — controlled light, a clean natural aesthetic, and a vibe that’s intimate without being super casual. Great for highlighting wardrobe pieces and getting those classic, close-cropped belly shots.

– In-home sessions are for the person who wants something raw and real — photos that look like your life, in the space where you’re actually building it. There’s something incredibly special about maternity photos taken in the nursery you just finished putting together, or curled up on the couch with your partner and maybe a toddler who keeps photobombing. These sessions feel the most like you, and honestly? They’re some of my favourites to photograph.
