In-Home Newborn Sessions | Baby E | St. John’s NL Newborn Photographer

We met Baby E at home for her newborn session and she was an absolute dream to photograph — peacefully snoozing through most of the session and only pausing twice for a feed (as growing babies tend to do). Those little breaks are always built into the pace of an in-home session, keeping everything calm and baby-led.

One of the sweetest details from this session was her bassinet, which had belonged to her mom when she was a baby. Family pieces like this always add something special to newborn photos — not staged or overdone, just meaningful touches that make the images feel personal to their story.

Mom and dad were also in the middle of renovations, which is something I hear families worry about all the time. The truth is, your house doesn’t need to be “finished” or photo-ready for an in-home newborn session. We can always find a small pocket of good natural light and keep things simple. At minimum, all we really need is a window, a neutral wall, and a bit of floor space to create beautiful, natural images.
