M&J | Fairmont Empress Library Wedding | Victoria Wedding Photographer

M&J decided to tie the knot in Victoria BC at the iconic Fairmont Empress Hotel in the inner harbour, choosing the romantic and cozy Library as their backdrop for their day. They both fell in love with the venue from their first visit and couldn’t imagine having their day anywhere but here.

They met when the fates aligned to bring them to the same city on the same day. Both just happened to be perusing the dating apps and came across each other while J was en route home from a vacation. They went on a casual date, and from there their love story blossomed. They have travelled the world together while doing long distance for a couple of years, and now are so thrilled to soon be living in the same place, finally!

14 of their friends and chosen family travelled from all over North America to witness their marriage and it was such an intimate and elegant celebration. Downtown Victoria made for the best backdrop for their wedding photos and the day was so relaxed from start to finish. The ceremony was intentional and guided by the wonderful Cecilia Penner, including an oathing stone ceremony with a collection of stones they could take home to symbolize the love and support of their people. After the ceremony we went to the Q bar for some delicious cocktails and conversation, and I stole the couple away for some portraits around the hotel. They topped off the day with a delicious plated dinner and casual evening that let them catch up with their friends and connect.
