Sooke BC Wedding Photographer | Prestige Oceanfront Resort | D&C

Danielle & Charle’s wedding took place on an exceptionally windy day in Sooke, BC at the Prestige Oceanfront Resort among their 50 closest family and friends. Their wedding day was intimate and heartfelt. Those who made it in person did so in light of a pandemic, power outages and cancelled ferries, but their village came and braved the storm together.

They met in Alberta while attending an outdoor concert festival together – they happened to be put on the same security team and got to know each other over that weekend. Charles was visiting from Langley and they decided to keep in touch. Charles joined Danielle in Edmonton shortly after and within 3 months they were engaged. Charles who is not one for grandiose gestures, proposed with a simple question in the dark followed by a yes. They ask this question of each other many times, and when the answer consistently remained “yes”, they knew they had found their forever person.

Their ceremony and I do’s took place in the foyer at the Prestige Oceanfront Resort, with thier two kid nephews providing their rings for the ring exchange. D&C wanted to involve their passion for exploration and adventuring in their wedding date, despite expecting a tiny human in the coming months. They decided to brave the wind on their wedding day to explore a nearby rocky bluff for their wedding photos. The wind eased up and we ended up with the perfect light and temperature for some romantic and relaxed wedding photos. We returned to the hotel for their grand entrance and first dance before they enjoyed their reception with their guests.
