Victoria Wedding Photographer – Heritage Acres Wedding and The Guild Restaurant Reception
When we found out Matt and Taylor were engaged we were over the moon excited for them and had to be a part of their day. We met this lovely pair while attending university at the University of Victoria, and over the years they have remained close. There is nothing as emotional and thrilling as shooting your friends wedding, so naturally there we were! We met up with these two a few days in advance on Canada Day at The Guild (their reception venue) for microbrew – our favourite! – and to go over some of the specifics of their day. A couple of days later we got to share tears and laughs at their wedding and we couldn’t be happier for them. After spending many years apart while Taylor attended school in Seattle, WA, and while Matt jumped between Vancouver and Victoria, they were reunited to share their vows and to start their future together. Taylor’s preparations took place in a downtown Victoria loft which had us swooning over the view, and we then swept her away to Beacon Hill Park for their first look and bridal party photos. Before heading to the ceremony, we had no choice but to swing by Cold Comfort, a local ice cream joint serving both regular and vegan options. Of course, we grabbed a few shots here before indulging in a little vegan treat ourselves. Their quaint and intimate ceremony took place at Heritage Acres in Saanich at a tiny vintage church, and then we ventured to The Guild for their epic reception, where we ate, drank and danced the night away. Check out some of the images from their big day! We are now constantly dreaming of Victoria. Thanks you two! 😉
